This Monday’s early-morning Full Moon at 8º38’ Gemini is also a penumbral lunar eclipse, the first of two eclipses that close out 2020.
As a Full Moon, it will be charged with the usual emotional and relational tension; however, as an eclipse, it will be far more karmic and unpredictable. This means potential plot twists and endings that herald new beginnings. The North Node brings in growth and opportunities, but the Full Moon first requires that we make some room. Hidden issues and information could come to light, yielding important revelations as well as a need for contemplative reflection.
This could indeed be a mentally active lunation, as Gemini loves to collect and disseminate knowledge. We may find ourselves wanting to learn, communicate, and connect. Be careful of overstimulation and overthinking, however. Use a journal to brain-dump and go for a relaxing walk in nature to get grounded.
With the Sagittarius Sun opposing the Gemini Moon, we must find the balance between what we know and what we don’t. Sagittarius can learn from Gemini’s neutral beginner’s mind, putting aside its passion and self-righteousness to discover it does not have all the answers. On the other hand, Gemini can learn from the focus and uprightness of Sagittarius, living according to a purpose and strong moral code.
With the South Node currently in Sagittarius, we must let go of sanctimonious preaching and rigid belief systems, as the North Node in Gemini beckons us to open our minds to all possibilities. A square from Neptune creates confusion and overwhelm, but also indicates that tolerance and understanding are at least part of the solution. Release judgment and remember to love your fellow human being.
Last, every eclipse falls under a specific Saros series, or family of eclipses. This one belongs to 4 South, which rouses strong emotions and fated events surrounding relationships and resources. This is echoed by a quincunx to Venus in Scorpio. Honor your authentic needs, desires, and values, but don’t let your passions get the best of you. Wait until the celestial dust settles before making any extreme moves.
The houses, planets, and angles this eclipse aspects in your chart will give you a better idea of how and where it will affect you. You may not see changes right away, however—the effects can take time to fully reveal themselves.
